Bio-LCB Base and Liner
Bio-LCB, Light Cured Base and Liner, was developed as a protective base/liner under composites, amalgams, cements, and other base materials. It can be used as a replacement for calcium hydroxide, glass ionomer, RMGI, IRM/ZOE, and other restorative materials. Bio-LCB creates an insulator/barrier to protect against sensitivity.
Unlike other base/liners, Bio-LCB is composed of a proprietary UDMA-based formulation, is super strong, self adhesive, bonds to dentin, and promotes dentin remineralization.
Helps prevent secondary decay
Bonds to dentin to prevent bacterial leakage. The composition becomes alkaline upon setting which has an anti-microbial effect.
Stimulates reparative dentin formation
Alkaline upon setting. Remineralizing/hydroxyapatite forming. Releases calcium and phosphate ions.
Strong mechanical strength
Bonds to dentin and restorative materials. Resists occlusal forces for restorative longevity.
Pulp protection and irritation reduction
Sealing off dentin tubules. Alkalinity maintains pulp vitality.

"I don't use a liner for every direct restoration I do but when you need a good liner for pulpal protection or insulation and really looking for some help in dentin remineralization I have found Bio-LCB to be extremely effective. I have used it on a class V sensitive abfraction area with a complete decrease in sensitivity as reported by the patient. I have used it as a liner proximal to a previously sensitive tooth to insulate the pulp after decay removal and restoration placement. The Patient experienced a total decrease in previously reported symptoms in this case as well. I find the included tips make application very easy and the color is very translucent so it does not obscure or change the esthetics of the restoration in any way. I look forward to using the product in more instances in the future and feel it will be a needed addition to my practice protocol."
