Traditional irrigants typically use concentrated solutions of EDTA (17%) to remove smear layer resulting in highly demineralized dentin. With its proprietary blend of surfactants and chelators that work together in synergy, Irritrol can accomplish highly efficient removal of smear layer without excessive demineralization. Irritrol is not an overly “aggressive” irrigant as it does not contain high concentrations of EDTA that can chelate away calcium ions leaving the dentinal surface severely eroded.
